Prevention is better than cure

Dental Care / Examinations are essential to check the health of your mouth and your overall health, as many mouth conditions have a bearing on your overall health and vice versa. We conduct a full examination of your mouth and all its structures, including the pink soft tissues, tongue, gums and teeth. We also take X-rays where necessary. Having regular dental health checks allows us to detect any potential problems early and put things right. After all, prevention is far better than having treatment.

We feel strongly that regular visits to see our hygienists is one of the main forms of prevention and not just a treatment. Our Laffan Dental Plan is aimed at those patients who believe in prevention and maintenance.

Do I need to visit the hygienist when I book a dental care check-up?

We recommend that you book a hygienist appointment and dental care check-up together to ensure you get the most out of your visit. Hygienist appointments are important to ensure all plaque is removed from your teeth and you’re given the advice you need about your oral hygiene.

When should I book my baby’s first checkup?

It’s recommended that you book your baby’s first checkup as soon as their first tooth emerges. This will ensure you establish the perfect oral hygiene routine from early on, and will encourage your child to view visits to the dentist as a normal and important part of life.

How much does it cost to have a checkup?

Our routine examinations are priced at £30, although check-ups and hygienist appointments are also included in our Laffan Care plans.
